Who cares about You?
Can you imagine what life would be like if you stopped caring what people think about you?
I spent far too many years caring.
Because it took me (too) many years to internalize this Truth:
𝗡𝗼𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂.
𝗔𝗻𝗱… 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂.
Think about it.
Imagine if I were to get in an accident today and injured myself badly, at most you’d think, “𝘗𝘰𝘰𝘳 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘦.”
You might tell a friend, and then you’d go for your dinner or go home… and get on with the rest of your life.
So, the silliest thing ever is to tie ourselves up into knots letting “𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘦” be one of the guideposts to your life.
I know, because I used to be just as silly.
So… if people don’t care about you, why do you insist on caring what they think about you?
The reality is, you yourself care more about what someone thinks of you, than you care about that someone.
Some of my clients struggle with anxiety over what people (boss, colleagues, friends) think of them - that in some way they’re not good enough.
Once I share with them this Truth, my clients can finally drop the “𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬” shackles and start to show up more fully and strategically.
When you don’t care what people think, you can finally make choices that serve you, and not your fear.
And that, my friend, is what Freedom tastes like.
